You must file a claim for veterans disability with the Veterans Administration. You are eligible for veterans disability if you have a service-related disability and you were discharged under honorable conditions.
The amount you receive depends on how disabled you are. In fact, you can be paid additional amounts if, for example, you have suffered loss of limbs, or you have a spouse, child(ren), or dependent parent(s), or you have a seriously disabled spouse.
You will need the following documents when you apply: (1) discharge papers; (2) dependency papers; and (3) medical evidence, including doctor and hospital reports.
