Question: I think I have Fibryomyalgia, and my doctor confirmed it. I can’t really work because my body is really achy and I feel tired all the time. Can I apply for social security disability?
Response: Although you can try to apply for social security disability benefits, the 3rd step in the eligibility process involves determining whether your particular medical condition qualifies you for disability. Fibryomyalgia is not on the list of severe disabilities, and because there are no medical tests to prove fibroyomyalgia, it may be difficult to get it approved as a disability as severe as those on the list. Prior to applying, you should ensure that you have sufficient documentation of your disability in place, and you should speak with an attorney who is experienced in social security disability applications.
