Ssi Benefit

The amount of SSI benefit that an individual or family can receive is dependent upon the income that they are able to bring home and the state in which they live. Each state has its own income limits. However, according to federal law, there are a few portions of income, which are not considered when determining an individual's eligibility for benefits. For example, the first $20 a month that an applicant receives, the first $65 a month earned from working and half the amount over $65, the value of food stamps, shelter from private nonprofit organizations and most home energy assistance.
