Family Maximum

The maximum family benefit is the maximum monthly amount that can be paid on a worker's earnings record. There is a formula for computing the maximum benefits payable to the disabled worker's family. The formula sums four separate percentages of portions of the worker's Primary Insurance Amount and is usually about eighty five percent of the worker's average indexed monthly earnings or AIME.

  • Family maximum cannot be less than the worker's Primary Insurance Amount or more than one hundred fifty percent of the Primary Insurance Amount.
